Το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών της Γερμανίας ευχαρίστησε σήμερα με ένα tweet τον Ντέιβιντ Μπάουι επειδή «βοήθησε να πέσει το Τείχος» του Βερολίνου με τo τραγούδι Heroes.

«Στο επανιδείν, David Bowie. Βρίσκεσαι τώρα ανάμεσα στους #Heroes. Ευχαριστούμε που βοήθησες να πέσει το Τείχος», έγραψε το υπουργείο στον επίσημο λογαριασμό του.

Το τραγούδι αυτό γράφτηκε ενώ ο Bowie ζούσε στο Βερολίνο, στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 1970, με αφορμή ένα ερωτευμένο ζευγάρι που είδε να αγκαλιάζεται στη βάση του Τείχους του Βερολίνου.

«Θυμάμαι, όρθιος στη βάση του Τείχους, και τα πυροβόλα να ρίχνουν πάνω από τα κεφάλια μας και εμάς να αγκαλιαζόμαστε σαν τίποτα να μην μπορούσε να συμβεί», λέει το τραγούδι.

Ιστορική είναι επίσης η συναυλία που έδωσε στο Ράιχσταγκ, όχι μακριά από το Τείχος το 1987, κατά την οποία τραγούδησε το Heroes, με τους κατοίκους του Ανατολικού Βερολίνου να το ακούνε από την άλλη πλευρά του Σιδηρού Παραπετάσματος.

Ο θρύλος της βρετανικής ροκ Ντέιβιντ Μπάουι πέθανε χθες σε ηλικία 69 ετών μετά από μάχη 18 μηνών με τον καρκίνο.
