Σε ομηρία βρίσκονται ακόμα οι επιβάτες του «Αρίων»
Την απελευθέρωση του σκάφους «Αρίων», του πληρώματος και των επιβατών έχει ζητήσει με διάβημα από τις ισραηλινές αρχές το ελληνικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών. Το ΥΠΕΞ σημειώνει ότι στο σκάφος δεν επέβαιναν Έλληνες πολίτες.
Το πλοίο «Αρίων», που κατευθυνόταν προς τη Γάζα, μεταφέροντας ανθρωπιστική βοήθεια, δέχθηκε ισραηλινή επίθεση περίπου στις 15:30. Το πλοίο κατευθύνθηκε με τη συνοδεία του ισραηλινού ναυτικού στο λιμάνι του Ασντόντ.
Όπως αναφέρει σε χθεσινή του ανακοίνωση το FREE GAZA MOVEMENT – στην ιδιοκτησία του οποίου είναι το πλοίο «Αρίων» - την Τρίτη 30 Ιουνίου, στις 15:30 μετά το μεσημέρι, ισραηλινά πολεμικά σκάφη διέπραξαν πειρατεία σε βάρος του πλοίου. Η πρώτη επαφή ωστόσο με ισραηλινά πολεμικά σκάφη έγινε στη 1:30 μετά τα μεσάνυχτα. Τουλάχιστον έξι ισραηλινά πολεμικά περικύκλωσαν το μικρό σκάφος του Free Gaza Movement, στο μέσο περίπου της διαδρομής Λάρνακα –Γάζα, και με την απειλή ότι θα ανοίξουν πυρ απαίτησαν να γυρίσει πίσω.
Το σκάφος συνέχισε την πορεία του, παρακολουθούμενο συνεχώς από ισραηλινά πολεμικά. Περίπου 23 μίλια από τις ακτές της Γάζας και ενώ ακόμη έπλεε σε διεθνή χωρικά ύδατα, ο «Αρίων» δέχτηκε επίθεση. Στη συνέχεια του αφαίρεσαν τα δορυφορικά μέσα επικοινωνίας, ενώ Ισραηλινοί κομάντο ανέβαιναν στο σκάφος και τους επιτέθηκαν. Στη συνέχεια, όλοι οι επιβαίνοντες απήχθησαν και ότι το σκάφος ρυμουλκήθηκε σε ισραηλινό λιμάνι.
Το «Αρίων», που είχε χτυπηθεί από το Ισραήλ σε αντίστοιχη αποστολή στις 15 Ιανουαρίου, μετέφερε 21 άτομα, σε μία διεθνή ανθρωπιστική αποστολή προς τη Γάζα. Ανάμεσά τους και η Αμερικανίδα βουλευτής, Σ. ΜακΚίνυ αλλά και η βραβευμένη με Νομπέλ Ειρήνης, Μ. Μαγκουάιρ.
O εκπρόσωπος του ελληνικού υπουργείου Εξωτερικών, Γρηγόρης Δελαβέκουρας, απαντώντας σε σχετική δημοσιογραφική ερώτηση, δήλωσε:
«Όπως έχουμε πει και στο παρελθόν κάθε νόμιμη δραστηριότητα μη κυβερνητικών οργανώσεων πρέπει να είναι ελεύθερη. Ταυτόχρονα είχαμε ενημερώσει εγκαίρως για τους σοβαρούς κινδύνους ασφαλείας που ενέχει η σχεδιαζόμενη προσπάθεια διέλευσης από τη θαλάσσια κλειστή στρατιωτική ζώνη που έχει καθορίσει το Ισραήλ στα ανοιχτά της Γάζας.
Μόλις πληροφορηθήκαμε τη σύλληψη του ελληνικής σημαίας σκάφους «Αρίων», στο οποίο δεν επιβαίνουν Έλληνες πολίτες, προβήκαμε σε διάβημα προς την ισραηλινή πλευρά με το οποίο ζητάμε την άμεση απελευθέρωση του σκάφους, του πληρώματος και των επιβατών.
Το Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών θα συνεχίσει να παρακολουθεί στενά το θέμα προβαίνοντας σε όλες τις απαραίτητες ενέργειες».

We received your enquiry regarding the above and would like to address your concerns.
According to information forwarded to us by the relevant authorities:
1. Mr. Nawi arrives every week to southern mount Hebron area and recently also to
Etzion area and joins Palestinian residents there. Together with these Palestinian
residents he knowingly enters areas in close vicinity of Israeli settlements that are
closed military areas.
2. During these weekly occurrences, Mr. Nawi provokes the local residents.
Subsequently, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and the Israeli Police arrive, and are
confronted by Mr. Nawi who has often uses insults and sometimes even force
against members of the security forces.
3. Mr. Nawi was detained, arrested and investigated several times for his behavior and
on March 19, 2009 was convicted of participating in a riot and assaulting two
Police officers (Cr.C. (Jerusalem) 3246/07 The State of Israel v. Ezra Nawi). His
case is scheduled for sentencing on July 1, 2009.
4. Note that Mr. Nawi is represented throughout these court proceeding by legal
counsel.

We have just learned that a few hours ago, Israel illegally, in international waters, seized the 'Spirit of Humanity,' a boat carrying a cargo of humanitarian aid. The boat is being forcibly towed to an Israeli port.
Also seized with the boat are 21 human rights workers from 11 countries, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Maguire and former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. The boat holds medicine, toys, and other much needed humanitarian relief for the Palestinians living in Gaza under siege. Its cargo was searched and it received a security clearance by Cypriot Port Authorities before departure.
Call your Congressperson and your Senators today. Ask them to call the Israeli Embassy and to call the U.S. State Department demanding that the boat and its occupants be released, together with their humanitarian cargo, and that they be allowed to dock in Gaza.
Ask them what crime is being committed by giving the people in Gaza medicines, toys, and pencils?

Σε διάβημα προς το Ισραήλ προέβη το ΥΠΕΞ για την παρεμπόδιση του -υπό ελληνικής σημαίας- σκάφους «Αρίων» και τη σύλληψη των μελών του.
Το σκάφος ξεκίνησε από τη Λεμεσό με προορισμό τη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, όπου θα μετέφερε ιατρικό εξοπλισμό, οικοδομικά υλικά και ηλεκτρικά καλώδια σπάζοντας το ναυτικό αποκλεισμό της περιοχής.
Σύμφωνα με την Jerusalem Post, το ναυτικό του Ισραήλ ανέκοψε την πορεία του σκάφους, και το «Αρίων» οδηγήθηκε στο λιμάνι του Ασντόντ, όπου κρατούνται οι επιβάτες και τα μέλη του πληρώματος.
Η ελληνική πλευρά ζητά με το διάβημα την απελευθέρωση του σκάφους, του πληρώματος και των επιβατών. Στο «Αρίων» δεν επέβαιναν Έλληνες πολίτες, σημείωσε σε ανακοίνωσή του το υπουργείο.
«Κάθε νόμιμη δραστηριότητα ΜΚΟ πρέπει να είναι ελεύθερη» δήλωσε ο εκπρόσωπος του υπουργείου Εξωτερικών Γρ. Δελαβεκούρας, συμπληρώνοντας, ωστόσο, ότι «είχαμε ενημερώσει για τους σοβαρούς κινδύνους ασφαλείας που ενέχει η σχεδιαζόμενη προσπάθεια διέλευσης από τη θαλάσσια κλειστή στρατιωτική ζώνη που έχει καθορίσει το Ισραήλ στα ανοιχτά της Γάζας».

Αποφασιστικότητα έχει και ένας κοινός κλέφτης που καθαρίζει τον βενζινά στο πρατήριο ή που σπάει στο ξύλο μια γριά, για να κλέψει μερικά ευρώ. Εγώ πάντως δεν θα του έλεγα μπράβο.
Το ίδιο αποφασιστικοί είναι και αυτοί που ζώνονται μερικά κιλά εκρηκτικά, "εμπλουτισμένα" με ρουλεμάν και ποντικοφάρμακο (αιμοδιαλυτικό, για περισσότερη αιμορραγία), και ανατινάζονται σε κάποιο σινεμά ή λεωφορείο στο Τελ Αβίβ. Ούτε σε αυτούς θα δώσω ποτέ συγχαρητήρια.
Υπάρχουν και πιο σημαντικά πράγματα από την "αποτελεσματικότητα" και την "αποφασιστικότητα" με την στενή τους έννοια.
Αν και διαφωνώ πλήρως με τους εβραίους και τους θεωρώ απαράδεκτους, εν τούτοις τους παραδέχομαι στην αποφασιστικότητα και το σθένος που δείχνουν προκειμένου να προασπίσουν τα συμφέροντά τους και την χώρα τους, απλά δεν υπολογίζουν τίποτε!!
Κάθε σοβαρό σύστημα, οργάνωση, κράτος, κόμμα κλπ κλπ δεν υπολογίζει τίποτε παρά μόνο το κόστος αποτυχίας και όλα τα υπόλοιπα τα κεφαλαιοποιεί και ακολούθως προχωρά στην πράξεις που ενδεχομένως να είναι ανήθικες και άτιμες, όμως το αποτέλεσμα το δικαιώνει. Αυτό ακριβώς κάνουν και οι εβραίοι, έχουν καταφέρει να τους στηρίζουν οι ισχυροί (ΗΠΑ, Βρετανία, μέσα ενημέρωσης κλπ κλπ) και έτσι επιτυχάνουν να κυριαρχούν σε όλους και όταν κρίνουν οτι είναι αναγκαίο σκοτώνουν μερικές χιλιάδες!!

Ο τίτλος του άρθρου είναι κάπως υπερβολικός και παραπέμπει μέχρι και σε βύθιση του πλοίου, ενώ δεν είναι έτσι.
Πριν από λίγο στον Flash ανέφεραν ότι το πλοίο και το πλήρωμα είναι υπό τον έλεγχο των Ισραηλινών αρχών (ναυτικού), γιατί επιχείρησε να εισέλθει στη Γάζα "...χωρίς σχετική άδεια".
Προφανώς είδαν ότι οι επιθέσεις και η παραλίγο βύθισή του τον περασμένο Ιανουάριο είχαν ως αποτέλεσμα αρνητική δημοσιότητα, οπότε βρήκαν την ευκαιρία να το καταλάβουν προσωρινά και να το γεμίσουν (προφανώς) με κοριούς και μικροκάμερες, ώστε στο εξής να το παρακολουθούν πιο εύκολα.
Δεν νομιζω οτι τα κουκουλωσαν. Ειμαι σιγουρος οτι απο την αρχη παιρνουν τα μετρα τους!
Μπορει να ασκηθει κριτικη αποστασιοποιησης αλλα νομιζω οτι εχουν δικιο να ειναι προσεκτικοι. Την στιγμη μαλιστα που οπως ανεφερα πολοι θα τα βαλουν μαζι τους και αλλοι θα ειναι Ποντιοι Πιλατοι αν κατι παει ασχημα

Κατανοω το εγγραφο της Κυπρου. Φτανει ου ειναι βαση της επιχειρησης ενω πολλοι συμπεριλαμβανομενου Σειχιδων αλλα και της πολυ Τουρκιας και των τζαμπα μαγκα Ερντογαν νιπτουν τας χειρας τους. Παει πολυ να ζηταμε και απο την καταταλεπωρημενη Κυπρο να βγαλει εντελως το φιδι απο τηντρυπα. Αν εξεδιδε εγγραφα με προορισμο Γαζα θα ειχε να τα βαλει ΜΟΝΗ και επισημα με το Ισραηλ. Στο twitter, το freegazaorg αναφέρει ότι έχει χάσει επαφή με τους επιβαίνοντες από τις 15:30. Στην τελευταία τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία με μέλος της διεθνούς αποστολής τη φράση "ετοιμάζονται να ανέβουν στο πλοίο" διαδέχθηκε η διακοπή της σύνδεσης.
Το Ισραήλ φέρεται να επιβεβαιώνει ότι το πλοίο έχει καταληφθεί από τις στρατιωτικές δυνάμεις του. Δεν έχω βρει ακόμα κάποιο επίσημο link όμως.
Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών ακούει; Πόσες μέρες θα κάνει ο κλητήρας να παραδώσει το μήνυμα αυτή τη φορά;

[23 miles off the coast of Gaza, 15:30pm] - Today Israeli Occupation Forces attacked and boarded the Free Gaza Movement boat, the SPIRIT OF HUMANITY, abducting 21 human rights workers from 11 countries, including Noble laureate Mairead Maguire and former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (see below for a complete list of passengers). The passengers and crew are being forcibly dragged toward Israel.
"This is an outrageous violation of international law against us. Our boat was not in Israeli waters, and we were on a human rights mission to the Gaza Strip," said Cynthia McKinney, a former U.S. Congresswoman and presidential candidate. "President Obama just told Israel to let in humanitarian and reconstruction supplies, and that's exactly what we tried to do. We're asking the international community to demand our release so we can resume our journey."
According to an International Committee of the Red Cross report released yesterday, the Palestinians living in Gaza are "trapped in despair." Thousands of Gazans whose homes were destroyed earlier during Israel's December/January massacre are still without shelter despite pledges of almost $4.5 billion in aid, because Israel refuses to allow cement and other building material into the Gaza Strip. The report also notes that hospitals are struggling to meet the needs of their patients due to Israel's disruption of medical supplies.
"The aid we were carrying is a symbol of hope for the people of Gaza, hope that the sea route would open for them, and they would be able to transport their own materials to begin to reconstruct the schools, hospitals and thousands of homes destroyed during the onslaught of "Cast Lead". Our mission is a gesture to the people of Gaza that we stand by them and that they are not alone" said fellow passenger Mairead Maguire, winner of a Noble Peace Prize for her work in Northern Ireland.
Just before being kidnapped by Israel, Huwaida Arraf, Free Gaza Movement chairperson and delegation co-coordinator on this voyage, stated that: "No one could possibly believe that our small boat constitutes any sort of threat to Israel. We carry medical and reconstruction supplies, and children's toys. Our passengers include a Nobel peace prize laureate and a former U.S. congressperson. Our boat was searched and received a security clearance by Cypriot Port Authorities before we departed, and at no time did we ever approach Israeli waters."
Arraf continued, "Israel's deliberate and premeditated attack on our unarmed boat is a clear violation of international law and we demand our immediate and unconditional release."

Activists aboard Gaza justice boat demand they be allowed to visit their friends & family in besieged Gaza, and deliver their cargo of medical supplies, children's toys, and reconstruction kits. They invite the world to join them.
(At Sea, 60km off the coast of the Gaza Strip) - Human Rights activists aboard the Free Gaza ship, the SPIRIT OF HUMANITY, today demanded that the Israeli Navy immediately stop threatening them.
“This aid is desperately needed by the people of Gaza,” said Mairead Maguire, winner of the Noble Peace Prize and Pacem in Terris Award for her work in Northern Ireland. “President Obama has called upon the Palestinians to abandon violence but Israel is denying them the right to non-violently resist the siege of Gaza.”
The unarmed justice ship departed Larnaca Port in Cyprus at 7:30am Monday with its crew of 21 human rights activists, humanitarian workers and journalists from 11 different countries, including Nobel laureate Mairead Maguire and former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. The boat, a converted ferry, hopes to arrive in Gaza Tuesday afternoon, following a grueling 30 hour sea voyage.
At 1:30am, Israeli warships surrounded the small civilian boat and threatened to open fire if they did not turn around. When the activists refused to be intimidated, Israeli Occupation Forces began jamming their instrumentation, blocking their GPS, radar, and navigation systems. This jamming was in direct violation of international maritime law, threatening the welfare and safety of the civilian ship.
Responding to this intimidation, Congresswoman McKinney declared, "I am extremely angry. We demand that the Israeli government call off their attack dogs. We are unarmed civilians aboard an unarmed boat delivering medical and reconstruction aid to other human beings in Gaza. Why in God's name would Israel want to attack us?"
Huwaida Arraf, Chairperson of the Free Gaza movement and delegation co-coordinator for this voyage, said, "All we want is to reach Gaza. We want to visit our friends and deliver our cargo of medical supplies, children's toys, and reconstruction materials. Our ship was searched and received security clearance from the Port Authorities in Cyprus before we departed."
Arraf continued, "We do not seek a confrontation. We have traveled from Cypriot waters to international waters and will enter Gazan waters. We've never gone anywhere near Israel. Israel’s closure of Gaza is an act of collective punishment and a blatant violation of international law. We call upon our governments to take action to uphold their obligations under the Fourth Geneva Conventions. If they won’t or until they do, we will act. We will come to Gaza again and again until this brutal siege is broken. We invite the good people of the world to join us."
Free Gaza boats are the first international ships in 41 years to sail to the Gaza Strip. Since August 2008, the Free Gaza Movement has organized 8 sea missions, successfully arriving to Gaza on 5 separate occasions. One two earlier occasions, Israeli Occupation Forces used violence to stop the ships, physically ramming and almost sinking the DIGNITY boat in December 2008, and threatening to fire on and kill unarmed passengers in January 2008. The fate of this, the eighth mission to Gaza, is still uncertain.
